Restaurant burglary
Thieves smashed in the door at Ponte Vecchio Trattoria, 1275 Post Road, on Dec. 29, at 4:53 a.m., according to Fairfield police. The restaurant’s cash register was found open and missing approximately $100
Police were alerted to the scene by an alarm.
Threatened to stab
A juvenile threatened to stab an older man in a domestic dispute on Dec. 29, according to Fairfield police. Both parties were arrested.
Officers charged Richard Murphy, 51, of Pease Avenue with disorderly conduct after he pushed the juvenile male into a wall and struck him in the chest.
The juvenile is reported to have also pushed Murphy one point grabbed a knife from the kitchen. He allegedly pointed the blade at Murphy and said he was going to stab him.
The juvenile was charged with disorderly conduct, as well as threatening in the second degree.
The juvenile’s mother signed the juvenile summons. He and Murphy were both released on a promise to appear, with conditions placed on Murphy prior to release. Both were due in court on Dec. 31.
Stolen pocketbook
A pocketbook was stolen from the front seat of a car left unlocked at Starbucks on Black Rock Turnpike on Dec. 28.
The victim reported to police at 2:43 p.m. that thieves made off with $300, credit cards, a license and a wallet worth $200.
Regional shoplifter
Fairfield police are investigating a shoplifter who stole $106 worth of electrical wires form Home Depot on Dec. 28. The suspect is wanted for other thefts in the region.
The suspect is described as a white male, in his 50s, with a gray beard and a tattoo on the side of his neck. During the Dec. 28, he was wearing a jeans and blue and white jacket.
He left the parking lot in a white Chevy express van with New York registration. Police said they have the plate number and have linked him to other thefts.
He is believed to have stolen $812 worth of merchandise from the Stratford Home Deport on Dec. 28 The suspect is alleged to have attempted another theft from Fairfield on Dec. 29 for $441. In that incident he is believed to have fled in a white Ford Expedition with New York plates.
Stolen generator
Fairfield police are investigating another man believed to have stolen a $700 generator from the Home Depot on Black Rock Turnpike on Dec. 29.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s. He left the store without paying for the generator and entered a vehicle at the end of the parking lot.
