The Fairfield Ludlowe wrestling team recorded the 100th win since the program’s inception in 2004, when coach Nick Garoffolo’s Falcons defeated Wilton High, 63-10, in a tri-match with Danbury at Danbury High on Thursday.
Ludlowe fell to top-ranked Danbury, 65-6, with 170-pounder Joe Sokolski pinning in 3:34.
Bobby Clark lost 6-0 at 126, Chase Lind 8-4 at 138, Matt Garoffolo 3-0 at 220, George Wales 2-0 at 106 and Ben Batatulanon 7-0 at 113.
In the milestone win over Wilton, Kyle Pietrzak (1:11 at 195), Marcus Sherrod (3:11 at 120) and Kyle DeCruccio (2:21 at 132) won by fall.
Ben Brzoski scored an 18-2 win for a five-point technical fall at 182 and Angel Sullivan earned a 12-4 major decision at 160.
Lind was an 8-4 winner at 138 and Clark an 8-2 winner at 126.
Sokolski (182), Matt Garoffolo (220), Jacob Jessen (heavyweight), Wales (106), and Batalunan (113) were awarded forfeits.
