The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Disaster Recovery Center, which is located at the Fairfield Senior Center, will close on Wednesday, Dec. 19, for any resident or business affected by Storm Sandy. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Starting Thursday, Dec. 20, a Disaster Loan Outreach Center will open at the same location and will include representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and one FEMA representative. This office will be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are no weekend hours. This office will remain open until further notice is given.
Deadlines for FEMA or SBA loans have been extended to Monday, Jan. 28. Residents and businesses are encouraged to return their SBA and FEMA applications prior to this deadline.

It is important that people who wish to file with FEMA do so before visiting the center so they can bring a FEMA claim number with them to the Center. To file with FEMA, residents may visit disasterassistance.gov or call 1-800-621-3362.
