Jannotta Family Feed raises $20,000 for CT Food Bank

The Jannotta Family held its 14th annual Jannotta Family Feed event, with all proceeds benefiting the Connecticut Food Bank. The event, held at Michael Gennaro’s Steakhouse in Fairfield, raised nearly $20,000. This is the 14th year the Jannotta family has held this event to raise money for the Connecticut Food Bank.

“Helping feed those in need during the holiday season has become a family tradition. This year’s event will help ensure thousands of Connecticut residents do not go hungry. We are proud to partner with the Connecticut Food Bank in their fight against hunger.”Anthony Jannotta, founder of the Jannotta Family Feed, said.

“Once again the Jannotta family’s friends have come through to help neighbors in need. The outpouring of giving for Thanksgiving is phenomenal, particularly as it follows on the heels of Sandy.” Nancy Carrington, president and CEO of the Connecticut Food Bank, said.

“My family and the Jannotta family have known each other for many years. We are proud to join them in their effort to help those in need this holiday season. We look forward to being part of this great tradition for years to come.” Michael Musto, owner of Gennaro’s Steakhouse Restaurant, said.

The annual Jannotta Family Feed dinner began 14 years ago after Anthony Jannotta read a news report that local food banks were in need during the holiday season. Nancy Carrington, president and CEO of the Connecticut Food Bank, attends the event every year during Thanksgiving week to accept the donations that directly provide thousands of meals for families and residents throughout Connecticut.

The Connecticut Food Bank provides food to more than 500 programs that directly feed those in need. This includes emergency food pantries, shelters and soup kitchens, daycare centers, low-income elder services and residential programs.

Anthony Jannotta is former legal counsel to Gov. Dannel Malloy and Special Counsel to former Attorney General Richard Blumenthal.
