A Stamford man was arrested after police said he said he would post photos and videos of an ex-girlfriend on the Internet, and threatened to kill her family.
Clive Haynes, 29, of Cowing Court in Stamford, was charged Dec. 3 with attempt to commit first-degree larceny, second-degree threatening and second-degree harassment. First-degree larceny was charged because of the attempt to steal using blackmail or extortion, Sgt. Suzanne Lussier said.
Haynes called and texted the threats to a 21-year-old Stamford woman at her job in Fairfield. She had stopped talking to him two months ago, she told police, but began receiving texts a few days prior to the arrest. Police said a previous incident involving the two was reported in Stamford.
Fairfield officers traveled to Stamford, where Haynes was taken into custody without incident, Lussier said.
Bond was $25,000 for court Dec. 4.
