Margaret M. “Peggy” Nealy Groholy, 82, of Fairfield, Connecticut and Palm Springs, California passed away on November 13, 2012 in Palm Springs, where she had been living since January with her loving son and caregiver, Thomas M. Groholy.
She was the widow of William “Bill” Groholy.
In addition to her son, she is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Barbara (Morra) and Thomas S. Pace, with whom she resided; her beloved grandsons, Scott Morra and his fiancée, Nicole Pasquale of Boston, MA and Ryan Morra of Burlington, VT; sisters-in-law, Josephine Groholy and Mary Ondov as well as several loving nieces and nephews and her best friend, Jennie Bertanza.
Mrs. Groholy was the daughter of the late James and Marie (Post) Nealy. She also was predeceased by her brother, James M. Nealy.
Mrs. Groholy was a graduate of Central High School, who held several secretarial and retail positions prior to retiring in 1985 from her position as a hostess at The Huntington Inn, Bridgeport.
An avid reader and crossword puzzler, Mrs. Groholy loved her annual trips to The Red Lion Inn with her daughter and visiting Palm Springs to see her son. She was an avid Red Sox fan as well. She was “Meams” to her loving grandsons and never missed a play or a game during their childhood.
