Jeanne McCoubrey Foote, age 89, of Southport, beloved wife of the late Howard Whittier Foote, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 17, 2012.
Born to the late Charles and Marie McCoubrey in Cambridge, MA, she was a graduate of Mt. Ida College in Newton, MA.
After her husband’s death in 1970, Jeanne devoted her life to the raising of her family, numerous civic and social organizations and was for many years an integral part of Tres Bon, a gift boutique in Greenfield Hill in Fairfield.
Mrs. Foote was an active member of the Junior League, the Fairfield Garden Club, Operation Hope and the Pequot Library. She was a member of the Country Club of Fairfield and previously, the Pequot Yacht Club and the Fairfield County Hunt Club.
She is survived by her devoted family: two sons, Whittier Foote of Vermont and Nathaniel “Nat” Foote and his wife, Susan of Fairfield and her loving daughter, Deborah Kouzoukian and her husband, Zohrab, also of Fairfield. In addition to her children, she is survived by grandchildren, Alexandra Kouzoukian, Howard Foote, Owen Foote, Emily Foote and Austin Foote.
Mrs. Foote was predeceased by her brother, Robert McCoubrey of Cambridge, MA.
A celebration of Jeanne Foote’s life will be held at the Country Club of Fairfield on Saturday December 15, 2012 at noon.
