Antonio Manca, age 84, of Fairfield, the loving husband of Assunta (Michelina) Manca, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 25, 2012 in Wilton. Born in Sardinia, Italy, Mr. Manca was a lifelong Fairfield resident.
Prior to his retirement, he was a Tool & Die Maker at Bridgeport Machines and also worked for many years at Producto. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved to garden, make wine and tinker at his workbench.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Angie Valentino of Fairfield, Rose Leggo of Ansonia and Salavatore Manca and his wife, Debbie of Georgia; and his two sisters, Maria Gunzi and Lucia Manca, both of Italy. He was the loving “Nonno” to his eight grandchildren, Frank Anthony Valentino and Felicia Bianca Valentino of Fairfield, Anna Leggo and five grandchildren in Georgia.
He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, November 29, 2012 leaving the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield Center at 9:30 a.m. to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
