FEMA to keep Fairfield center open

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Disaster Recovery Command Center will reopen its temporary office at the Fairfield Senior Center, 100 Mona Terrace, for any Fairfield resident or business affected by Storm Sandy.

The temporary center will be open Saturday, Nov. 17, from noon to 8 p.m.

Starting Monday, Nov. 19, the center will be open Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., until further notice.

The FEMA center will be closed on Sundays and on Thanksgiving Day.

FEMA will keep this center open as long as needed, and will inform the public when it will be closed.

People who wish to file claims must do so before visiting the center, and must take a FEMA claim number with them. To file with FEMA, residents can go online disasterassistance.gov or call 1-800-621-3362.
