The Fairfield Ludlowe girls soccer team advanced to the second round of the Class LL state tournament with a resounding 4-0 victory over Shelton High at Taft Field on Friday afternoon.
Emily Matis and Lindsay Zilling scored two goals apiece for the No. 16 seed Falcons (10-5-2), while keeper Bridget Clarke recorded the clean sheet in net.
Up next, Ludlowe will travel to top-seeded Glastonbury to face the Tomahawks (16-0) on Monday at 2 p.m.
Shelton, the SCC runner-up, finished its season 9-4-6.
