Dump stickers suspended

Effective immediately, and until further notice, Fairfield residents no longer require a dump sticker on vehicles to access the transfer station. Simply provide proof of residency: ID, registration, etc, and you will be granted access.

“We received a lot of angry FB messages from residents who were turned away because they lacked a sticker,” Lt. Mike Gagner wrote in a Facebook message. “We brought the issue to town officials who immediately suspended the requirement. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused people. Among the thousands of decisions made over the past week, this issue simply did not pop up until yesterday. Sometimes we, as town employees need a kick in the pants – thank you for doing so. The problem has been corrected.”

The dump will remain open daily from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. until further notice.

Residents with storm related brush, limbs, trees, etc TOWNWIDE can place these items curbside, and crews will remove them as time permits.

Residents in the BEACH AREA ONLY can also place storm damaged personal items and household goods curbside for removal by crews.
