For the past two days, Fairfield Police officers and detectives have been visiting neighborhoods throughout town on foot, going door to door in an attempt to identify any residents with special needs/medical condition(s) who may have lost communications due to the hurricane and are now housebound.
“If you are aware of a neighbor who may need assistance, please contact the Fairfield Police Department at 203-254-4800 and we will conduct a welfare check,” according to a Facebook post.
“We are also asking residents to continue keeping tabs on their neighbors, especially the very young, and elderly who are the ones most likely to be impacted by the dropping temperatures at night,” police added.
